PRESIDENT SAMIA TO ATTEND PREMIERE OF TANZANIA: ‘THE ROYAL TOUR’ IN NEW YORK

President Samia Suluhu Hassan will today attend the much-anticipated premiere of Tanzania:The Royal Tour television programme in New York, the United States.

The premiere of the one-hour film featuring President Samia showcasing key tourist attractions in Tanzania, will take place at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Around 400 people are expected to attend the event.

Invited guests at the New York premiere include heads of international financial institutions, international tour operators, journalists, members of the Tanzanian Diaspora in the United States and other prominent individuals.

The Royal Tour is a groundbreaking series of television specials, produced and hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist Peter Greenberg, promoting the country’s unrivalled tourism attractions and investment opportunities.

Tanzania’s leading public and private sector players came together to support the production of the television programme, including TANAPA, NCAA, TTB, TAWA, TFS and private sector bodies such as CTI, TBA, TPSF, TATO and CEOrt.

The Royal Tour will be televised live on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) through affiliate station WTTS, which has about 3.5 million viewers and will later be broadcast by more than 300 other channels, which reach around 86% of Americans. The programme will also be streamed on digital channels such as Amazon and Apple TV.

Apart from the New York premiere, there will be similar launch events for the TV programme in Los Angeles (21 April), Dar es Salaam (28 April) and Zanzibar (7 May).
